Sara lives on the Isle of Wight and studied Fine Art at Cumbria Institute of the Arts in Carlisle. After graduating in 1995 she worked as an illustrator and designer, in-house and freelance, for varied commissions including homeware for high street retailers, magazine editorials, greetings cards and book illustrations. Clients included Smithsonian Magazine, The Guardian, Hachette UK and The Big Issue.

Returning to figurative painting, Sara now exhibits her work and is available for portrait commissions. Portraying her sitter in a representational style, she chiefly concerns herself with capturing the sitter’s likeness. Her work frequently aims to hint at the inner world of the sitter through fleeting thoughts and quiet emotions.
