Sara lives on the Isle of Wight and studied Fine Art at Cumbria Institute of the Arts in Carlisle. After graduating she worked as a designer and freelance illustrator. Her work has been commissioned for many uses including illustrations on homeware for high street retailers, magazine editorial illustration, greetings cards and book illustration for companies including Smithsonian Magazine, The Guardian, Hachette UK and The Big Issue.

Returning to figurative painting in 2023, Sara is now exhibiting and selling her work and is available for portrait commissions. Portraying her sitter in a representational style, she chiefly concerns herself with capturing the sitter’s likeness. Her work frequently aims to hint at the inner world of the sitter through fleeting thoughts and quiet emotions.
